Baptisms were the highlight of 2021

“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven”. (Matthew 10:32)

Chaplain Tara Benning, had the honor of baptizing 45 Sacramento County youth Detention Facility residents this summer. Her dream was finally made a reality due to the unwavering support of the YDF Probation management and staff.

These are the first baptisms to ever take place inside of the Sacramento County YDF. The residents were excited to sign up for this opportunity and even though we can’t show their faces.

I promise it was nothing but smiles when they came out from under the water. Afterwards we celebrated with cupcakes and they all received photos of their special moment to share with family and friends.
