Who We Are
The purpose of The Juvenile Justice Chaplaincy is to provide religious services to residents and staff at the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility. We have over 70 volunteers from all over the Greater Sacramento area coming throughout the week. These volunteers come to mentor one-on-one, teach Bible study, tutor and share their talents. Many of our volunteers perform spoken word, rap, lead worship, give testimonies and teach art to the residents. Each resident has the opportunity to go to church service every Sunday. We are humbled by the amazing guest speakers and performers who have come alongside to support us.
Our Mission
To serve the Juvenile Justice System by addressing the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of youth and by offering them guidance and direction on moral, ethical, and philosophical issues.
